Gentle Bear Supports Defence Families and Children

Gallagher Bassett’s (GB) Gentle Bear has been continuing to support our community. Today, GB team members donated Gentle Bears to support Brisbane Legacy.

Legacy is a charity which delivers services to Australian families suffering after the injury or death of a spouse or parent, during or after their defence force service.

They currently care for 52,000 beneficiaries, including 1,845 children and disabled dependants throughout Australia. Gentle Bear is an emotional aid which will be used in Legacy’s work in support of current or former military personnel and their families.

The Gentle Bears were handed over by a number GB team members who themselves have military experience.

IMG_2106Jon Winsbury, Executive Vice President International, was humbled to present the bears to such a worthwhile charity.

“Our Gentle Bears are a symbol of caring and compassion. Brisbane Legacy does tremendous work to assist families in our defence community and we were really honoured to deliver our comfort bears in support of this charity.”

GB has been expanding support towards the defence community. Our CEO John McNamara recently signed ‘The Soldier On Pledge’ to support the National Security Community. Signing the Pledge is a symbol of GB’s commitment to support our national security community.

Gentle bear has been busy in the past year! He has recently expanded his mission to Western Australia to support young children with disabilities, toured the Northern Territory to support his friends at the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services, and even visited Chimpanzees the Jane Goodall Chimp Rehab Centre in South Africa.
