GB Australia is strengthening links to the insurtech industry with the launch of ‘Dress for your Day’; a new flexible dress code, recognising that everyone works best when they are comfortable at work.

Following a successful trial by the Innovation and People and Performance teams in our Melbourne Branch earlier this year, all GB employees now have the choice on how they will dress for their day.

The 'dress for your day' policy replaces GB's previous Dress Code and Corporate Wardrobe policy. Rather than a highly prescriptive dress code, staff are encouraged to consider what they are doing that day and dress appropriately.

A recent study indicated that 61% of employees are more productive when their dress code is relaxed.

Of those respondents, 91% said they felt the quality and condition of what they wore was more important than whether it complied with a dress code

'Dress for your Day' is about recognising that everyone works best when they are comfortable at work. By providing GB staff the flexibility to dress for their day, GB hopes to create a more engaging environment within the workplace.

Some of GB’s Senior Executive got in on the fun when it came to communicating the new benefit, as seen above, with CEO John McNamara dressing for his day in a stylish polo, jeans and sneakers combination.

John said ‘by trusting our employees to dress for their day, we hope to create a more engaging environment within the workplace.'

As part of GB’s Workplace Giving Program, employees have now been encouraged to donate any business clothes that may no longer be needed. Charities have been chosen that support people on their journey back to work, by providing professional clothing and work skills training.
