Shaun Meehan to Participate in Pain Revolution Ride in Tasmania

Gallagher Bassett (GB) is pleased to announce that Shaun Meehan, General Manager – SA, will be participating in the Pain Revolution Ride, a 7-day cycle tour from 16-23 March 2019 in Tasmania.

Pain Revolution is an organization focused on ensuring that all Australians have the resources and support within their local communities to prevent and overcome persistent pain.

This is Shaun’s third year of participation in the event, which aims to raise much needed funds for research to improve the treatment of persistent chronic pain and increase awareness of the impacts of persistent pain on society.

Seminars will be held at rural centres along the route to educate residents of the island state about how to prevent and overcome persistent pain. Participants will discuss the latest discoveries and learn from clinicians and communities who are facing this massive health problem every day.

Shaun is excited about raising funds for this worthwhile cause,

“Having worked in the personal injury industry for the past 20 years, it is very evident to me that persistent pain has significant impacts on individuals, as well as on our broader society. Many of the injured workers we help to remain in, or return to work, endure persistent pain, which in many cases has significant impacts on their lives and those of their families.”

“New techniques in the treatment and management of pain would not only enormously benefit those directly affected, it would also benefit their families and the greater community. It’s for these reasons I am passionate about supporting research into and education about the better treatment of pain."
