GB’s Shaun Meehan, SA’s General Manager is in training for pain, along with everyone's favourite Gentle Bear, Shaun will be riding from Melbourne to Adelaide to raise funds for Pain Revolution.

The aim of the event is not only to raise much needed funds to research and improve the treatment of persistent (chronic) pain, but also to increase awareness of the impacts of persistent pain on society.

Pain is currently Australia’s most costly health issue, with 1 in 5 Aussies suffering from persistent pain everyday.

GB is right behind Shaun and this amazing cause, signing up as a key sponsor for the event.

Shaun said, "Some may think I’m crazy, however having worked in the personal injury industry for the past 19 years (the past 13 years at Gallagher Bassett), it is very evident to me that persistent pain has significant impacts on individuals, as well as our broader society.

Many of the injured workers we help to remain in, or return to work, endure persistent pain, which obviously has impacts on their lives and those of their families.  New techniques in the treatment and management of pain would not only benefit those directly affected enormously, it would also benefit their families and the greater community.

It is for these reasons I am passionate about supporting research into and education about the better treatment of pain.”
