Gentle Bear supports the Royal Flying Doctor Service
Gallagher Bassett’s (GB) Gentle Bear has continued his mission to bring comfort to children in traumatic circumstances.
Earlier this month, there was a special delivery of Gentle Bears for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia to support their work with sick and injured children. The Gentle Bears will be handed out to sick and injured children on the RFDS flights.
The bear serves as an emotional aid to distract a child’s attention from the immediate, distressing situation by providing a recognisable, reassuring and safe object to latch on to.
Shaun Meehan, General Manager – South Australia, handed the bears to staff at the RFDS Adelaide base.
Shaun was touched to have the opportunity to deliver Gentle Bears to this worthwhile cause,
“The Gentle Bear is a symbol of comfort and caring during tough times."
"We’re proud to be handing out bears that will be given to sick and injured children by the wonderful staff at Royal Flying Doctor Service,” Shaun said.
Gentle Bear has had a busy year, touring the Northern Territory to support the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services, expanding the program into Queensland and even visiting the Jane Goodall Chimp Rehab Centre in South Africa.
