GB Staff Training and Induction Programs win gold at 2016 LearnX Awards
Congratulations to GB’s Cathy James, Learning and HR Solutions Coordinator, on winning gold in two categories at the 2016 LearnX Awards, which is the leading industry body that recognises the best and emerging talent across a variety of categories in learning.
Cathy was recognised for her work on GB’s staff training and development programs in two categories:
- Best Talent – Instructional Designer, recognising the quality of the staff training material Cathy has developed
- Best Learning Project for Induction - for GB’s Internship Orientation Program
This is a fantastic result that follows the Australian Financial Review naming Gallagher Bassett one of Australia’s top 100 most sought after internship employers in February 2016.
"I’m very proud of these awards, it recognises the hard work we are putting into creating more engaging learning opportunities for our employees and also introducing a pipeline of strong talent into the organisation" Cathy said.
The Best Talent – Instructional Designer award is given to a talented instructional designer who has created online training and/or online learning materials within a learning project and whose creative technical input has had a significant impact on employees' learning and development. The evaluation committee looked at a number of GB’s interactive staff training modules, including compliance with the General Insurance Code of practice, Injury Management, Records Management and Weekly Benefits.
The Best Learning Project – Induction award is for a training project an organisation has implemented to effectively initiate new employees into the business. The evaluation committee examined GB’s induction program in terms of how it embedded our culture and values, transferred technical knowledge and skills and enhanced the job performance of participants.
National Learning and Development Manager, Jodie Birleson said "One of the rare-breed of exceptionally talented instructional designers, Cathy has helped transform our staff training into interactive and highly engaging pieces of deep learning. Learners state that they really enjoy completing the eLearning courses thanks to Cathy’s superb instructional design".
The trophies will be presented at LearnX 2016 in October.
