GB Shaves for a Cure
On Friday 8th April 2016, GB participated in ‘Shave for a Cure’, which is the signature fundraising event for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand.
Seven GB employees in the Auckland office shaved their heads for the cause, raising over five thousand dollars in a bid to help the six Kiwis diagnosed every day with a blood cancer or related conditions.
Shave for a Cure has so far raised over half a million dollars this year, with 1300 heads shorn to show solidarity with blood cancer patients - many of whom lose their hair as a result of life-saving treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The money raised from the event helps Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand fund core services such as patient support, support and funding for research, awareness and advocacy.
Craig Furness, Managing Director NZ said "Every year thousands of kiwis across New Zealand complete the brave shave and we are proud to support this amazing cause".
