GB icare Insurance for NSW leaders appointed

Gallagher Bassett is pleased to announce the appointment of Maria Bililis, Team Leader, and Matthew Hooker, Operations Support Services Manager, for our icare Insurance for NSW (IfNSW) general lines team based in Sydney.

Recruitment has been well underway following our appointment as the new claims management service provider for general lines across the icare Self Insurance portfolios.

Both Maria and Matthew previously worked with IAG within the motor claims division, both with over a decade in insurance and leadership roles, which will assist in the development of the icare Insurance for NSW division at GB.

Maria and Matthew's responsibilities will include leading a team of people, providing strategic direction on products and portfolios, quality assurance and business performance.

Maria spoke of the opportunity to work closely with Government agencies,

“I am eager to build long-term business relationships both within GB and with our clients and working together to provide quality, innovative solutions for the benefit of our customers.”

In addition to his industry experience, Matthew has completed a Diploma in Management and a Certificate in Financial Services and is excited about the new role:

“I am looking forward to positively contributing to the newly established division and working closely with the highly capable individuals at GB to provide our clients with a simpler, more efficient way of managing claims.”

Scott Newland, GB’s National Operations Manager of General Insurance, Scott spoke of the skills and experience that both Maria and Matthew bring to GB:

“Both Maria and Matthew are highly capable leaders I have every confidence that they will demonstrate athe ‘commercial mind, social heart’ ethos of icare to meet the needs of icare and NSW Government Agency clients.”

Both Maria and Matthew commenced with GB on 4 January 2018.

icare Self Insurance provides NSW Government Agencies with comprehensive protection and risk services across a wide range of insurances. GB will have responsibility for managing all general lines portfolios, including liability, motor and property.

GB will commence managing all new claims from March 2018, with all existing claims transitioned by mid-2018.
