The award was sponsored by Gallagher Bassett at a black-tie Gala night, with judges selected from business leaders in Geelong, Ballarat, and Bendigo.

Matthew Tarabay, GB’s Manager- Broker & Intermediary Relationships presented the award and congratulated Bendigo Property Services on their win “I was thrilled when I saw the name in the envelope and the fact that they are a GB client makes it even more special.”

Bendigo Property Services delivers countless hours of cleaning to schools, offices, showrooms, venues, and other facilities.

GB spoke with Martin and Cathy Leach, who run Bendigo Property Services, about their award and how their strong sense of corporate social responsibility and putting their staff first contributes to their business success. “We are an ethical cleaning company and passionate about treating our staff with respect. One of the challenges we constantly face is competitors who pay less than award wages and use illegal practices such as sham contracting.”

“Bendigo Property Services has an open door policy and our employees are always welcome to come in and see us. We focus on their health by providing flu shots and ensure that any chemicals have labels with pictographs for ease of identification. We also provide a vast array of training including technical, OH&S and leadership courses”.

Bendigo Property Services is passionate about their local community and acting responsibly for the environment, they use local suppliers for their chemicals, have invested in greener chemicals, products and processes and water-saving equipment.

“We believe that our long-term success and prosperity depends on acting responsibly”.

They have also installed solar panels, implemented an effective recycling program, and significantly reduced the use of paper in the office.

“The team at Bendigo Property Services are thrilled to have their work recognised in these awards; it’s an honour as the other finalists in these categories are very well known for the great work they do in the area of Health & Wellbeing”.
