On 13th November 2017, Gallagher Bassett (GB) commenced managing claims for the Northern Territory Government.

This week marks the first anniversary of the account, and it’s certainly been a big year for the team!

When GB was appointed to the account, five existing GB team members relocated to the Northern Territory, to get stuck into the new account.

GB was also delighted to welcome a number of local Territorians to the GB family – and this week 18 of them celebrated their first anniversary.

Over the last year, the team have shared some significant milestones, including:

• Establishing a brand new team spread across three different locations in the NT
• Taking on 440 claims at the commencement of the contract, and managing a further 400 claims over the past year
• Winning the Insurance Industry Innovation of the Year award at the 2018 ANZIIF Awards. The award was in recognition of an innovative online LaunchPad developed for the NT Government Self Insurance Services, designed to simplify and enhance the claims experience for employers, government agencies and injured workers

In addition, the NT team celebrated several individual recognitions:

• John Deane, Operations Manager, being named a finalist in the NT Insurance Industry Awards, in the category of Young Insurance Professional of the Year
• Karlie Clausen, Return to Work Specialist, winning Customer Service Professional of the Year at the NT Insurance Industry Awards
• Amanda Hoepper, Return to Work Specialist, winning GB’s National Gallagher Way award, for outstanding demonstration of GB’s values (“The Gallagher Way”)

GB’s General Manager for Self Insurance, Ben Sheat is proud of the team reaching the one year milestone:
