Gallagher Bassett (GB) is delighted to announce the appointment of Brad Smith to the role of Chief Operating Officer, effective 8th October 2018.
The role of Chief Operating Officer is a new addition to GB’s Executive Team, and is responsible for leading and managing all operational business units within GB Australia – both Personal Injury and Speciality Markets.
Brad comes to GB from Allianz Partners where he worked for over 9 years.
Most recently, Brad was the Chief Sales Officer, leading a national workforce covering sales and account management across the Travel, Health, Automotive and Property portfolios. As the lead contact Brad was responsible for driving revenue across the company’s B2B and B2C brands and external partnerships.
Prior to that, Brad was the General Manager – Assistance and Networks, an extension to his previous role of National Network Manager – Australia and New Zealand, focusing on many areas of Operations including the contact centre platforms, external provider networks, resource planning, procurement and building services.
CEO John McNamara is excited to have Brad join the GB family.
"I’m really pleased to introduce the role of COO to GB Australia, and am looking forward to the value that Brad will add to the GB Executive.
Brad’s experience will help to ensure that the introduction of the role makes a significant impact on the quality and the level of service that we provide to our clients."
Brad is delighted to be on board.
"I am extremely delighted to join an outcome focused brand like Gallagher Bassett.
The culture driven by such a committed team really does stand out and it’s no wonder so many government and corporate institutions trust and rely on GB to manage the complexities of injury and claims management services.
I look forward to working with the team on the next phase of their journey where I’ll have the privilege of seeing firsthand the positive outcomes they provide to so many."
Outside of work, Brad is a lover of all things outdoors, so will often be found at a park, out on the water or camping with his family.
He also has a love of motorbikes (that started at age 4!), and when Brad needs some quiet therapeutic time he heads to his garage to restore or tinker with one of the bikes in his collection.
