The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) have named Gallagher Bassett (GB) as a  finalist at the 2018 Insurance Industry Awards in the category of Insurance Industry Innovation of the Year.

GB was named a finalist in recognition of its development of an innovative online LaunchPads for its Northern Territory Government Self Insurance Services, designed to simplify and enhance the claims experience for employers, government agencies and injured workers.

The LaunchPad provides 22  Government Agencies across the Territory with access to access to a full range of claims services, allowing workers and agencies to lodge claims and expenses, access training, engage with GB staff, develop health and safety posters and access all of GB’s value added benefits.

Animated videos are embedded throughout the LaunchPad, providing simple, user-friendly step-by-step guides for users.

GB’s General Manager – Marketing and Communications, Drew Spilsbury, who lead the development of the LaunchPad was delighted with the news.

“At GB we are continuously pursuing new and better ways to deliver services, using technology to improve efficiency but also to provide greater personalisation and a more user-friendly, service-focussed experience,” Drew said.

“Being recognised as a finalist in the ‘Innovation of the Year’ category is a real honour for us, especially because our nomination focused on innovation in an area we pride ourselves on – combining technology and service to provide better claims experiences.”

GB are currently in the process of developing LaunchPads for a number of other large government and self insurance clients.

Attended by more than 750 of the industry’s top executives, the Australian Insurance Industry Awards recognise the finalists and winners of 17 award categories, which include individuals and companies spanning the breadth of Australian insurance.

Winners of each category will be announced at the ANZIIF annual awards dinner on Thursday 30th of August. At the 2017 ANZIIF Awards GB was named Service Provider to the Insurance Industry of the year.

GB has also had our approach to talent management recognised again, this year coming in first place for the Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) 2018 Top 25 Intern Programs list moving up from 2nd place the previous year.
