Gallagher Bassett (GB) is pleased to announce that it has been named as the new service provider for the Norfolk Island Workers’ Compensation Scheme.

John McNamara, GB-Australia Chief Executive Officer, expressing his delight with the announcement, said:

GB will be responsible for assessing and managing claims for compensation, supporting recovery and return to work strategies for Norfolk Islanders and collecting membership fees.

The appointment expands GB’s portfolio within its Self Insurance unit and sees the claims management provider move into one of the world’s most pristine locations.

The appointment also marks an important milestone for GB – the third party claims administrator now operates in all jurisdictions across Australia and New Zealand.

With extensive experience in Workers’ Compensation, GB is well-positioned to proactively manage claims in a unique remote location.

The hand-over process is expected to commence shortly and services are anticipated to begin on 1 September 2020.
