Corporate Travel in the Wake of the Covid-19 Pandemic
Accident and health insurance products, including corporate travel insurance, cover unanticipated health related incidents as a result of an accident or illness. These types of claims go beyond worker’s compensation and can also support an employee and their family in the event of a significant illness, injury or death. Gallagher Bassett has a proven track record of helping businesses manage their accident and health related claims in a cost and time efficient manner reducing the impact of these claims on the company and their employees.
With international borders starting to open up, many employees will be resuming overseas travel for work. Covid-19 can’t be overlooked when it comes to business travel, as government requirements are changing regularly which can cause setbacks and delays. As such, the Australian government travel advisory website has detailed a checklist to make travelling during the pandemic as safe as possible.
Checklist
- Make sure you are double vaccinated and have had your booster if eligible
- Check the requirements of the country you are travelling to and complete any prerequisites (e.g. negative PCR test or other documentation)
- Some countries may require you to isolate or quarantine upon arrival too
- Masks are required for all overseas travel
- When travelling back into Australia, travellers need to provide a negative PCR test in the 3 days prior to the scheduled flight, or a rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours of the scheduled flight and in the presence of a medical practitioner
- The proof of this negative test must have your passport name, the negative result, and the method of test, such as a PCR test
- Inbound passengers must also fill out an Australian travel declaration (ATD) prior to departure
