Congratulations to all the finalists in this years’ WorkSafe Victoria Awards!
The annual WorkSafe Awards celebrate employers dedicated to improving the safety culture and wellbeing of their staff and ensuring a sustainable return to work.
Four Gallagher Bassett (GB) clients were named as finalists this year; Metcash, Metropolitan Fire Brigade, Darebin City Council and Robert Kovacs from Victoria Police.
- GB client Metcash has been named as a finalist for Leading Return to Work Practice by an Employer.
- Metropolitan Fire Brigade has also been named as a finalist for Leading Return to Work Practice by an Employer.
- Darebin City Council has been named as a finalist for Commitment to Workplace Health and Wellbeing.
- And finally, Robert Kovacs from Victoria Police, has been named as a finalist for Health and Safety Representative of the Year.
GB’s General Manager – Victoria, Mark Daniels, spoke highly of the finalists.
“We’re delighted to see Metcash, Metropolitan Fire Brigade, Darebin City Council and Robert Kovacs from Victoria Police amongst this year’s WorkSafe Awards,” Mark said.
“The Awards are an incredibly important way of recognising the important work being done by these organisations to improve the health and safety of their workplaces,” he added.
These finalists have achieved significant health improvements in their workplace, and have directly contributed to preventing injuries and ensuring their workers return to work.
The categories for this year's awards are:
- Health and Safety Invention of the Year
- OHS Achievement
- Best Solution to a Specific Workplace Health and Safety Issue
- Best Solution to a Manual Handling Issue
- Health and Safety Representative of the Year
- Commitment to Workplace Health and Wellbeing
- Worker Return to Work Achievement
- Leading Return to Work Practice by Employer
All finalists are invited to the prestigious WorkSafe Victoria Awards 2018 Gala Dinner in October 2018 where we will announce this year’s winners.
