Every year, Gallagher Bassett (GB) hosts the GB Awards - a celebration of our people and a chance to stop and reflect on the amazing work they do each and every day.

Pete Nicholson, GB Australia Chief Executive Officer, said:

“Our annual GB Awards program is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the amazing work that our people do every day, and I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate a colleague.

It is truly inspiring to read all the examples of our people living The Gallagher Way and helping make a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work.

I’d like to congratulate all our nominees, finalists and winners and encourage you to make time to read the stories on each of our winners.”

There are eight award categories:

• Claims Manager of the Year
• Internal Customer Service Provider of the Year
• External Customer Service Provider of the Year
• Process Challenger of the Year
• Emerging Leader of the Year
• Impact Leader of the Year
• Sales Person of the Year
• The National Gallagher Way Award

This year, Victoria’s Capability Team – made up of Jake Bell and Madeleine Bull - was recognised with the Process Challenger of the Year award! Natalie Watson, Senior Manager - Business Operations, nominated the team:

“The Capability Team provides a supportive environment for the development of our new starters, particularly those with no prior industry experience. Jake and Madeleine introduced a new program that provides new members of our GB family with skills development, training in legislation, systems, role playing conversations with customers, and many more valuable skills”.

When asked about what they enjoy most about their roles, Jake and Madeleine remarked:

“We have thoroughly enjoyed setting up and immersing ourselves in the Capability Team and its program which caters to those who are brand new to our industry. It provides our newest staff structure, time and support to understand what is a very complex industry.

It has been so fulfilling to us to work with and nurture these individuals, to help grow their knowledge and build the foundations for what can be a rewarding career. It is never lost on either of us when we graduate somebody from our program and land them in a team and witness their success - it is the highlight of our role”.

We both look forward to watching this team grow and witness more success stories to come from the Capability Team in 2023.”
