Every year, Gallagher Bassett (GB) hosts the GB Awards - a celebration of our people and a chance to stop and reflect on the amazing work they do each and every day.

Pete Nicholson, GB Australia Chief Executive Officer, said:

There are eight award categories:

• Internal Customer Service Provider of the Year
• External Customer Service Provider of the Year
• Process Challenger of the Year
• Emerging Leader of the Year
• Impact Leader of the Year
• Sales Person of the Year
• The National Gallagher Way Award

This year, Shane McCarthy was recognised with the Impact Leader of the Year award! Liam O’Neill, Assistant General Manager - Victoria, nominated Shane:

“Shane is an experienced leader who challenges the status quo and strives to be the best, which has seen him lead improved process and accountability practices within the Victorian operation.

Shane has also been instrumental in the tender process for iCare Nominal Insurer, bringing his deep claims management experience to the tender team, while continuing to undertake his day job.”

When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Shane remarked:

“What I enjoy the most about my role and working for GB is the way the business bands together to tackle challenges and lift performance – it’s second to none.

I have seen this in the support from the business for our new NSW Nominal Insurer business unit. The support from our expert subject matter expert leads across our business nationally has been staggering, with everyone chipping in and willing to support the start-up.

I am really enjoying developing a new operation to support the NSW community with this business backing.”
