Every year, Gallagher Bassett (GB) hosts the GB Awards - a celebration of our people and a chance to stop and reflect on the amazing work they do each and every day.

This year there were nine award categories. They include:

• Internal Customer Service Provider of the Year
• External Customer Service Provider of the Year
• Emerging Leader of the Year
• Impact Leader of the Year
• Claims Manager of the Year
• Sales Person of the Year
• Process Challenger of the Year
• The National Gallagher Way Award
• Business Impact Award.

We spoke with Greg Carpenter, Return to Work Specialist, who was recognised with the External Service Provider of the Year Award! 

Greg was nominated by Melissa Zadey, Team Manager, who said the following:

“Greg can only be described as a first-class Return to Work Specialist. He delivers superior customer service through an empathetic and personalised approach achieving sustained return to work outcomes.

Greg is instrumental in guiding our customers to get their lives back, which ultimately assists not only the injured customer and employer but the entire South Australian community”.

When asked about what he enjoyed most about his role, Greg remarked:

“The best part about my role is to be able to make a difference to an injured person's life, especially if they have a fairly serious injury and need my assistance to help reduce the impact on their family.

I love getting a new claim and sinking my teeth into it and meeting new people.

I also enjoy unusual injuries and learning how they affect the body and what treatment is necessary to assist the recovery.

Lastly, it is great being part of a team that has a common goal and a competitive nature against other teams which can only help with motivation and team work."

There was a total of 51 nominations over the nine categories.

John McNamara, GB Australia Chief Executive Officer, said:
