Every year, Gallagher Bassett (GB) hosts the GB Awards - a celebration of our people and a chance to stop and reflect on the amazing work they do each and every day.

This year there were nine award categories. They include:

• Internal Customer Service Provider of the Year
• External Customer Service Provider of the Year
• Emerging Leader of the Year
• Impact Leader of the Year
• Claims Manager of the Year
• Sales Person of the Year
• Process Challenger of the Year
• The National Gallagher Way Award
• Business Impact Award.

We spoke with Cristine Green, Mental Health Consultant, who was recognised with the Internal Customer Service Provider of the Year award! Cristine joined GB’s Mental Health team in October 2019.

When asked about what she enjoyed most about her role, Cristine remarked:

“What I love about my job is that each day I get the opportunity to help people on their journey to recovery.

A mental injury or condition can sap the enjoyment out of life for people and seeing someone recapture their enthusiasm by returning to work is very rewarding. Helping individuals achieve this is what I love about my job.

Even though my role is serious most of the time, I love being able to have fun with my peers and clients. I enjoy coaching peers and employers and helping clients return to work and life.

Working as a Mental Health Consultant has given me the opportunity to give a lot, and get a lot.”

There was a total of 51 nominations over the nine categories.

John McNamara, GB Australia Chief Executive Officer, said:
