GB recently sponsored a successful seminar on ‘The Ageing Workforce and WHS – Preparing for the Future’ held by the Safety Institute of Australia Ltd.
The future of the ageing workforce remains a hot topic for many employers, with the seminar discussing the impacts of the mature workforce on productivity, wellbeing and WHS outcomes and providing a forum to discuss good management practices associated with the mature workforce.
Some of the speakers at the event included two popular GB Advantage interviewees, Wayne Bishop, Director of Activetics, from The Ageing Workforce:Preparing for the Future and David Savio, General Manager of WHS and Workers Compensation at Healthscope, who discussed with GB how empowering their workers improved their safety culture.
Other speakers included GB’s Victorian General Manager Aidan Brophy, Julie Hill Strategic and Compensation Policy/Director of Legal and Strategic Policy Branch at Safe Work Australia and Mario Machado, Director at EHS Strategic Solutions Pty Ltd.
“GB was proud to sponsor this event. Preparing for the ageing workforce is both an opportunity and a challenge that employers need to face head on now and the speakers shared some fantastic strategies for those who attended” said Aidan.
