GB Self Insurance leaders to present at the Safety in Action and Workplace Wellness Conferences

GB’s Stacey Williams and Ben Sheat will be presenting at the third annual Safety in Action, Workplace Wellness & RTW Conference being held in Melbourne 5-6 September 2017.

 The Safety in Action Conference is a two-day, high profile conference for Safety leaders. It brings together Safety leaders in the health and safety profession and will feature a great line up of regulators, thought-leaders and international keynotes who are making a difference in the health and safety culture.

 At 11.30 on Tuesday 5th of September Stacey Williams, Executive Director of Self Insurancewill be speaking on Managing a Millennial Workforce: Future Proofing your Health and Safety Program.

 By 2020, millennials will become the largest generation in the workplace, encompassing 50% of the global workforce. Stacey will be linking safety strategy, leadership and culture and examine how to make workplace health and safety relevant to younger workers.

 The Workplace Wellness Conference, being held alongside Safety In Action, includes presentations from industry leaders identifying strategies to enhance the mental and physical wellbeing and productivity of the Australian workforce.

From state initiatives to stress management and promoting healthier lifestyles, this conference will focus on the best-practice case studies in Mental Health & Wellbeing.

 At 2.00pm on Wednesday 6tH September Ben Sheat, National Manager Self Insurance will be speaking on Taking Action - A systematic approach to preventing psychological injuryin the workplace.

 This will include a case study, causes of stress and psychological injuries and the cost to organisations in addition to steps in the prevention and management of psychological injury

The above conferences will be running concurrently with the Return to Work Conference aimed at rehabilitation, HR and Workplace Health & Safety leaders. This year’s program will look into best practice strategies that supports employees through the process of rehabilitation and manages their return to the workplace in a timely and safe manner.

 GB’s SA General Manager Shaun Meehan will also be giving insight into South Australia’s journey to mobile case management, outlining the benefits and challenges of the innovative method and GB’s learning along the way.
