In April, Gallagher Bassett New Zealand acquired the leading general insurance third party claims administrator, Auckland-headquartered Symetri Ltd.

 We are pleased to announce the acquisition is now complete with all 90 Symetri staff now inducted into the GB business.

 Over the last few months we have met with and communicated the acquisition to many of Symetri’s (now GB’s) customers and they were delighted that GB and Symetri were combining forces to deliver great outcomes for them into the future.

 We are now well advanced in changing branding and integrating the Symetri business fully.

 Symetri provides assessing, project management and claims management services throughout the whole of New Zealand and with their proven systems in property, motor and marine claims and loss adjusting, we can provide our clients with an enhanced claims service.

Symetri had staff throughout New Zealand with substantial operations in Auckland and Christchurch.  They also had a presence in Wellington, Napier, New Plymouth, Dunedin, Hamilton, Nelson, Palmerston North, Tauranga, Whangarei and Invercargill which have now joined or become satellite offices of Gallagher Bassett.

 GB’s Managing Director, New Zealand, Craig Furness, said the acquisition has strengthened GB’s offer to the New Zealand general insurance market by combining with Symetri’s systems and capability.

 “We see this as a great opportunity. GB’s expertise in policy administration and claims management is well known in New Zealand,” he said.
